Frequently Asked Questions
Shipping large furniture? Yep!
Freight shipping makes it pretty simple. We package up your furniture and drop it off with a freight carrier - they deliver it to your door. For a small fee they can even open it up, place it in your space, and take away the packaging material.
While freight shipping prices vary based on size, weight, distance traveled, and current fuel prices, it is easy to get a quote. If you a curious, just contact us and we'll work up a quote for you.
When will I get my furniture?
Our lead time is 8 weeks from order acceptance. Most of our furniture is made to order - once we confirm your order, we'll be getting right to work building your furniture.
Expedited timelines are usually possible for a small fee, depending on current capacity. If you have a specific deadline in mind, just ask.
What do you mean by "New furniture, made the old way"
This isn't like the big box store - no flat pack, no particle board, and searching around for missing screws.
All our furniture is built using strong, traditional joinery. Joinery that has been proven out over centuries of use and abuse. Mortise and tenons, dovetails, etc.
How should I maintain my furniture? How is it finished?
We use a low-VOC hardwax oil on all our furniture (OSMO Poly-X Oil 3054). It is beautiful, durable, and easily maintained. This hard wearing, easily repairable finish is designed to handle a lot of abuse from water, wine, coffee, and tea.
For day to day cleaning a soft, damp rag is all you need. Avoid harsh cleaners, window cleaning solution, etc.
Over time and use, the finish may start to look just a little dry. For a refresh, we recommend OSMO Liquid Wax Cleaner. Simply wipe it on generously, wait five minutes, then wipe it off with paper towels.
Please avoid off the shelf "furniture polish" - these products will make your furniture more vulnerable to white rings under cups.
